The purpose for processing your data.

Tradesconnect provides a platform for individuals working in the trades sector to connect with each other, seek or provide advice on everyday work related issues and provide work or partnering opportunities. The platform also provides other service providers such as estate agents, landlords, block management companies etc. to find the trades they require. In addition, promotions provided by trade suppliers give additional benefits. We process your personal data so we can provide you these services and goods, process payments online and provide you updates and news (marketing).  We use your personal data for account management purposes, maintaining communication and providing service based information.

 

We receive your personal data directly from you when you register an account on our platform.

 

What Data do you collect?

When you create an account with us, we will initially process the following personal data:

·       Full name

·       Email address

·       Company name

·       Your geographic location

·       Your profile image (optional)

·       Your address (optional)

 

We will provide a verification code to your email address and once your account is created, when you will be able to provide additional information to your profile. This information consists of:

·       Website URL (optional)

·       Social Media Links (optional)

·       Birthdate – used for verification purposes.

 

We offer a ‘Verified’ premium status and upon payment we will require the following information to conduct our due diligence checks, these are:

·       Government ID document

·       Proof of Indemnity Insurance

 

We collect data through our website analytics some of which may identify you, such as an IP address. Our Cookie Policy details the cookies we use and you can manage your preferences through our cookie consent platform.

 

On what basis do you process Personal Data?

Under Data Protection law, specifically the UK General Data Protection Regulation, we must have a lawful basis to allow us to use the personal data we have collected. For the purpose of creating the account you have set up, account management, communication and service related information, we use Article 6.1.b UK GDPR – performance of a contract / taking steps to engage in a contract. To provide you information about our services and goods, we use Article 6.1.f UK GDPR – purposes necessary in the legitimate interests of the company. Cookies not necessary for the function of the platform are placed with your consent and processing of that data is conducted under Article 6.1.f UK GDPR – legitimate interest.

 

Who do you share personal data with?

As a general principle, we will not transfer your personal data to other recipients without your permission. There are some exceptions to this: 

·       It is possible, that we might be obliged to disclose personal information in response to a court order or other lawful obligation. Our lawful basis for this is Article 6.1.c -legal obligation.

·       We may share your data as part of a sale, transfer, or merge part of our business or our assets. We would do this as under the basis of Article 6.1.f - legitimate interest as we have a legitimate interest in developing and evolving our business.

·       We may need to share personal information with our professional advisors, such as lawyers, accountants an insurance provider. We do this under Article 6.1.f – legitimate interest or where appropriate, Article 6.1.c – legal obligation.  

·       Please be aware that some of your personal data, placed by you on the platform will be visible to other users.

 

Data processed by third parties on our behalf.  

We use the services of other organisations in the processing your data. We use cloud-based email and content storage and video conference platforms. We also provide limited personal data to organisations that perform maintenance and service work on our behalf such as our IT managed service providers.

 

Those organisations that process personal data on our behalf are subject to a data processing contract as required by Article 28 of the UK GPDR. This ensures that your data is handled in accordance with the UK GPDR.

 

Do you transfer data outside of the UK? 

Your personal data is processed in the United Kingdom.

 

How long do you keep my data? 

 We will retain your data only for the time we require it for the purposes stated and / or where we have a legal obligation or other legitimate purpose. Personal data (excluding purchase transaction data) is deleted once your account is closed. You may delete your own data from within your account settings. Verification data is retained for one year pending re verification.

 

Your rights 

 The UK GDPR provides you with several rights in relation to the data of your we process. The rights relevant to our activities are:

 

·       You have the right to get access to and copies of your personal data.

·       You can ask us to rectify any inaccurate information we may be holding. 

·       You can request we restrict our processing of your data.

·       You can ask us to erase your personal data if it is no longer required for the purpose we collected it or have no legal obligation to retain it.

·       You have the right to object to processing we undertake under a legitimate interest basis.
